I made this salmon stew last night ! It was so good! Especially since the weather has  turned chilly.  I hope you will try it!  My friend Libby puts onions in her salmon stew but I love mine ! ENJOY! ~ Mama Peggy

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lg can salmon (pink)
  • 1 qt milk
  • 2 cans evaporated milk
  • 1 stick butter
  • salt and pepper (to taste)
  • Zesta saltine crackers

Instructions
 

  • In a large saucepan, combine milk, evaporated milk and butter.
  • Remove skin and bones from Salmon and stir into milk.
  • Add salt and pepper.
  • Bring to a near boil.
  • Remove from heat. Serve with crackers.

Notes

If you prefer more salmon, just add another can!

My Mama cooked Salmon Stew (served over grits) and also cooked the best homemade biscuits years ago when I was a little girl. I am so happy to find the recipe for this tasty stew since I have been looking for it for several decades.
